Open Road Outpost & Biergarten
Open Road Outpost & Biergarten brings the energy, flavor, and spirit of the Open Road brand to Tysons. Known for cold beer, live music, and fresh food, Open Road has been a favorite across Northern Virginia since the original Merrifield location opened in 2013. The Outpost & Biergarten concept at The Boro builds on that legacy with a space designed for everything from a weeknight dinner to a full Saturday of watching the game — approximately 5,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space anchored by vibrant bar areas, multiple large-format TVs throughout the dining room and patio, and artwork by local artist Jack Labadie. Whether guests are settling in for Sunday football, catching a midweek happy hour after work, or meeting friends for weekend brunch, the Outpost is built to be the neighborhood's go-to gathering place.
The menu features elevated American grill favorites — the kind of food guests have come to crave across all three existing Open Road locations. Think wood-fired proteins, hand-smashed burgers, house-smoked wings, shareable platters, and seasonal specials, all prepared by the Open Road kitchen team. The beverage program features spirits distilled and blended in-house at Open Road Distilling Co. in Reston Town Center — just minutes down the road — including American Vodka, American Gin, Eagle Eye Rye, and Independence Bourbon. Guests can enjoy those spirits in handcrafted cocktails or choose from an extensive selection of craft beers, local brews, and a rotating draft list.
The Biergarten
This is not your average biergarten. The outdoor space at Open Road Outpost offers full food and drink service in a setting built for more than just a quick pint — it's an after-work destination and a weekend hangout all in one. Open Wednesday through Saturday from 3:00 to 9:00 PM when the weather allows, the biergarten features live music, cornhole, and a laid-back atmosphere that makes it easy to stop by for one drink and stay for three. Whether you're winding down after a long day at the office, grabbing drinks with coworkers steps from the Greensboro Metro, or looking for something to do on a Saturday afternoon, the biergarten is designed to be the kind of place where the best plans happen on the spot. Full menu service means you're never limited to bar snacks — order anything from the Open Road kitchen, pair it with a cold draft or a handcrafted cocktail, and settle in.
